The National Health Fund provides grants to enhance Jamaica’s healthcare system, supporting mainly public sector projects. These projects improve health infrastructure and service delivery.

Who Can Apply

Institutions that need assistance with implementing projects related to healthcare delivery in Jamaica are welcome to apply. These can include: 

  • Ministry of Health & Wellness
  • Regional Health Authorities
  • Other Government Institutions
  • Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs)

How to Apply

Entities interested in applying for a NHF grant must complete a Project Proposal and Grant Request Form, outlining the project objectives, cost, duration and expected outcomes. Upon completion, submit forms in addition to all supporting documents to our Head Office at the Towers, 6th Floor 25 Dominica Drive, Kingston 5

Supporting Documents

The following represents the minimum requirements for submission. Items “a” – “d” are required for all projects and items “e” and “f” are required for any Infrastructure and Procurement of medical equipment projects respectively. Items “g” and “h” are dependent on counterpart funding.

  1. Project summary request letter signed by the head of the organization e.g. CEO, President,
    Regional Director
  2. Completed Grant Request Form
  3. Project Proposal
  4. Supporting documents for the cost of the project e.g. Quotations, Per-forma Invoices, summary of Bill of Quantities or any other relevant document
  5. Architectural designs / working drawings relevant to the stage of the project (11” x 17” paper size)
  6. Specifications for any equipment to be purchased under the project
  7. Evidence of any self-financing portion of the project e.g. Bank statement or other form of commitment
  8. Approval letter or any other supporting documents from institutions providing counterpart funding

 

The Approval Process

Grants are approved within 40 working days of receiving a completed Grant Request application. A completed Grant Request Application is one in which all the relevant supporting documents have been submitted
