DIRECT RELIEF DONATES APPROXIMATELY 1 MILLION DOLLARS WORTH OF MEDICAL SUPPLIES TO NHF IN RESPONSE TO COVID-19

Everton Anderson, Chief Executive Officer of the National Health Fund along with other staff members thanked Direct Relief, California, USA for their donation of essential medical supplies valued at US$1 Million dollars (approx. JA$135 Million dollars) for health workers responding to the coronavirus in Jamaica. A Virtual Handover was held April 7, 2020, with Genevieve Bitter, Director of Program Operations and other members of the Direct Relief team and Diane Pollard, President and CEO of Issa Trust Foundation. Among the items donated were personal protective equipment and medications for managing mental health and chronic illnesses. The National Health Fund has a longstanding partnership with Direct Relief and Issa Trust Foundation over the years and will continue to work together to support the health system. Direct Relief is a humanitarian aid organization with a mission to improve the health and lives of people globally.
