NHF takes the Benefits to the People
The National Health Fund (NHF) on Saturday, February 25, 2023 hosted a health fair in Lucea aimed at promoting healthy lifestyle practices and encouraging health-seeking behaviours.
The fair, which is the fourth in a series of pop ups, took a heart health focus and offered ECG tests to participants in honour of Heart Month, along with general screening such as blood pressure and blood cholesterol tests, and health education talks.
Participants were also introduced to the NHFCard, and provided with the application form needed to enrol in the NHFCard Programme. Any Jamaican with one or more of the conditions covered by the Fund is eligible to become a beneficiary.
Under the initiative, the Fund also conducts school tours and makes presentations to hotel staff as well as community organisations such as churches.
