NHF ADDS NEW ACTIVE INGREDIENT AND NEW LABELS TO DRUG LIST

The National Health Fund, NHF has added to the NHF Individual Drug List, a new active ingredient Insulin Lispro, for the treatment of diabetes, effective March 22, 2006. The drug labels added for this drug are Humalog Injection 100u/millilitres -10 millilitres and Humalog Penfill Cartridge- 3 millilitres x 5 vials.

Several new drug labels representing existing active ingredients were also added to the list for major depression, hypertension, arthritis and for combination drugs for the treatment of Epilepsy/Major Depress/Diabetes and Hypertension/Ischaemic Heart Disease/ Diabetes.

A new strength tablet a fifty milligram (50 mg) tablet for topiramate, for the treatment of Epilepsy and major depression, was also added.

New package sizes for Clopidogrel and Pravator were also added. A new 75 milligram pack size of 100s was added for Clopidogrel for the combination treatment of Ischaemic Heart Disease and Vascular Disease. A 20milligram, pack size of 10s for Pravator, used in the treatment of high cholesterol, was also added to JADEP List effective March 28, 2006.
