NHF Drug List Expands With More Additions

With subsidies ranging from $3.44 per tablet to $67.45 per tablet the NHF has made six new additions to the NHF Drug List, five of which will benefit diabetics enrolled with the NHFCARD.

Metformin XR, which is an extended release oral antihyperglycemic drug used in the management of Type 2 Diabetes, was added under the Glucophage label in 500mg XR, 1000mg XR and a new strength 750mg XR tablets. The NHF subsidy per tablet is $3.44, $6.86 and $5.16 respectively.

Ena+HCT-Denk (Enalapril & Hydroclorothiazide) a new drug label, has also been added to the NHF Drug List with a subsidy of $67.45 per tablet. This drug is used for the treatment of Hypertension, Ischaemic Heart Disease and is listed as an adjunct under diabetes.

Gabapentin-PMS 100mg, a new strength of this label was added to the NHF Drug List for the treatment of epilepsy and is listed as an adjunct under diabetes. Thesubsidy for this drug is $17.60 per tablet.

Entrophen (Aspirin) is another new label added to the NHF Drug List with a subsidy of $4.69 per tablet. It is used in the treatment of Ischaemic Heart Disease and Vascular Disease.
