NHF MAILING OUT 15,000 REPLACEMENT HEALTH CARDS FOR THOSE EXPIRING JUNE 13,2006

National Health Fund (NHF) Beneficiaries whose health cards expire on June 13, 2006 will be receiving new cards through the mail. Fifteen thousand two hundred and thirty one (15,231), replacement cards will be mailed out.

Mrs. Sacha Blake Customer Services Supervisor, NHF says priority has been given to replacing expiring cards for beneficiaries who actively use their NHF cards to fill prescriptions. ?Mailing out of these cards begins tomorrow May 17, 2006 and beneficiaries will be able to use their new cards after June 13, 2006,? she says.

NHF beneficiaries do not need to reapply in order to obtain a new NHF card, when their old card expires. Any resident of Jamaica with any of fifteen chronic diseases covered by the NHF can apply to and obtain a health card from the NHF to help purchase prescription drugs and diabetic supplies.
