Save on the Cost of Your Pap Smear Test with Your NHFCard!

Pap Smear test is now covered on the NHFCard Programme. The NHF is partnering with doctors to provide this new benefit to women aged 21 and over.

Who Can Benefit?

• Women aged 21 and over can now access one Pap Smear test every three (3) years with an NHF subsidy of $1300 (per test).

• The maximum allowance is one (1) test every three years (unless indicated otherwise by your doctor).

• Existing NHFCard holders will automatically have the benefit added to their card.

The Importance of a Pap Smear Test

Regular Pap Smear screening is crucial in detecting pre-cancerous lesions (abnormal cells), which can significantly reduce the risk of cervical cancer.

Cervical cancer poses a higher risk for Hispanic and Black women compared to Caucasian or Asian women. In Jamaica, all women aged 21 and over are at risk and should be screened according to established guidelines.
