Double Subsidy for Children
The National Health Fund offers special benefits for children who are living with chronic diseases.
Currently, the Fund offers double the discount on medication and medical supplies for children under the age of 19. This increase in drug subsidies for children was implemented in September 2016 to address the rising out-of-pocket expenses borne by beneficiaries.
This special benefit was implemented to increase affordability and improve access to medications so that our nation’s children can have better clinical outcomes.
The NHFCard covers 17 chronic illnesses such as;
- Asthma & Subsidy for Spacers and Masks
- Diabetes & Diabetes Programme
- Sickle Cell
- Epilepsy
- Rheumatic Fever/Heart Disease
